Dr Ernest Wang is the head of the clinical trials section of the acute brain injury research laboratory (ABIRL) at the NNI. He co-ordinates both industry sponsored and investigator initiated trials. In 2001, he was awarded a 2 year fellowship to train with the world renowned Professor John Pickard in Cambridge. Dr Wang’s interest in cerebrovascular haemodynamics and traumatic brain injury stems from working with clinicians and researchers at the academic unit in the University of Cambridge.
Dr Wang’s other clinical interests include neurovascular surgery, spine surgery and the management of complex cerebrospinal fluid problems. He coordinates resident training in the department and is also responsible for the delivery of NNI’s neurosurgical service at Changi General Hospital.
He is founding president of the Singapore Brain and Spine Injury Foundation (SBSIF) with the aim of giving hope to the those in need.
